Kids Associate
I grew up in a small Texas town with loving, Christian parents who faithfully served our church. My childhood and teen years are filled with memories of being at church or with people from church. When I was 7 years old, I put my love and trust in Jesus Christ. My little kid heart loved Him and knew He died to save me. However, my relationship with Him eventually became stagnant. Believing the lies of the enemy, I worked hard to please others by attending church, behaving as expected and saying all the right things.
By the grace of God, while at camp between my junior and senior year of high school, He used scripture to reveal more of Himself to me. He is a loving God who wants to know me personally--not a god who wants me to act or speak perfectly to gain his love. This was a pivotal point in my faith and relationship with Christ; I turned from pleasing people, seeking popularity, and chasing academic accolades and turned towards genuine surrender to and love of Christ. My relationship with Him became personal, and I enjoyed getting to know Him more.
After high school, I attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where God gifted me godly friends to continue to help me grow towards Him in deep community. I graduated from UMHB with a degree in Nursing and have been caring for people in that capacity for the last decade.
While at UMHB, I met my husband, Jake, and we got married in 2014. We moved to Dallas and attended the Village Church Dallas until we moved to Plano in 2016. We then began attending what is now Citizens Church. We have two awesome kids, Harrison and Darbi. We love being a part of what God is doing at Citizens!
My hope for Citizens Church is that we would be a people marked by our love for Christ and each other. That this love would reflect through us to the world and bring others to know freedom through the truth of the gospel.

We hold to the central beliefs of the Christian faith, as communicated throughout Scripture and summed up in the ancient creeds of the Church.
