Students Minister
I grew up in Flower Mound, Texas. My oldest brother was invited by a friend to church and so we went, and at 8 years old I was graciously introduced to truth about God at The Village Church.
Growing up in a chaotic home with addiction, from a young age I had an anxious and angry heart that sought peace and acceptance from others. It wasn’t until I was 15, helping my dad take my mom to rehab, that God graciously gave me eyes to see my desperate need for a savior. Everything in my life was falling apart and the wells that I drank from for momentary peace had run dry.
In September of 2011, in a rehab facility hallway, I surrendered and declared Jesus as Lord of my life. Since then, the Lord has freed my mom from addiction and restored my parents' marriage. My anxious and angry heart was transformed by the joy and peace of Christ. I have seen firsthand the transformative power of the gospel, and since then, I have been obsessed with sharing the hope I have found in Christ. I cling tightly to what Paul exhorts the church in Galatia with in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” I pray that this would be the anthem of my life!
I have been in student ministry since 2015. It is the joy of my life to come alongside what God is doing in the lives of students and to get a front row seat to see teenagers follow Jesus, be transformed by the gospel, and live as citizens of the Kingdom of God.
I love being married to my husband, Aaron! We met while we were both students at Criswell College in Dallas, TX and have been married since 2021.
My hope for Citizens Church is that we would be a people who love God most and love others well. My prayer is that we would be marked with a Christ-like compassion for the lost and a commitment to gospel centered community.
