Kids Associate

The Kids Associate role requires someone who is administratively gifted and passionate about developing those who desire to serve in our Kids Ministry. Deliverables in this role vary but will include leading and coordinating all volunteers across Preschool and Elementary Ministries, as well as managing the volunteer recruitment, training, and development process. 

Job Responsibilities

Tactical Execution

  • Develop a volunteer recruitment strategy
  • Recruit potential volunteers
  • Conduct volunteer interviews
  • Create and manage the weekly schedule of volunteers
  • Work with ABLE ministry in placing volunteers and assimilating such children
  • Help oversee Citizens Kids Ministry
  • Help participate in teaching responsibilities for Citizens Kids
  • Availability to teach and serve in non-children’s ministry environment
  • Participation in Staff Development Activities (Restore, Staff Retreat, etc.)
  • Pray for members and attenders of Citizens Church
People Development
  • Oversee volunteer meetings 
  • Write content for and facilitate volunteer training
  • Train new volunteers, ensuring they are ready to do the work of the ministry and place them into the appropriate service roles
  • Communicate weekly (email and otherwise) with volunteers to provide encouragement and information
  • Provide feedback to volunteer leaders and teachers
Curriculum Strategy and Planning
  • Spend regular time in study and prayer
  • Prepare (or delegate) weekend props and staging for Elementary Large Group Lesson
  • Participate in the planning and execution of CitiCamp (summer camp)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Commit to exhibiting a lifestyle that is consistent with Citizens Church’s Statement of Faith  
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Background in theological studies preferred
  • Proficient in reading, understanding and rightly teaching the scriptures
  • Proficient in contextualizing theological truths for birth through 5th graders
  • Proficient in leading, shepherding and equipping volunteers
  • Working knowledge of child development
  • Working knowledge in administrative systems and platforms (e.g. Google Drive and Apps, etc.)
  • Able to make decisions, problem-solve, manage conflict and work well on a team
  • Self-starter, learner, flexible and adaptable
  • Demonstrate good time management
  • Strategic thinking
  • Coaching and development
