Mission of Home Groups
The mission of Home Groups at Citizens Church is to become like Jesus together in the
context of a gospel-centered community.
How Home Groups Work
Build Community
Home Groups are made up of people committed to pursuing Christ together—learning to love, think, feel, and act more like Jesus, while faithfully living out the “one another” commands found in Scripture.
Pursue Sanctification
Home Groups regularly engage God's Word, confess sin to one another, walk in repentance together, and pray for one another as they grow to be more like Jesus.
Live On Mission
Home groups live out the Great Commission by intentionally serving those around them, sending and supporting others in mission, and going to share the gospel in everyday life. As they follow Jesus together, they seek to multiply—raising up new leaders and launching new groups so more people can experience gospel-centered community.
How to Join a Home Group
There are two ways to get connected to a Home Group. One is to organically join an existing group—usually through an invitation from someone you meet at the Sunday gathering or other ministry events. The other is by attending a Group Connect, where you’ll learn more about the philosophy,
mission, and purpose of Home Groups. From there, our hope is to place you in an existing group,
help launch a new one, or provide other opportunities to connect at Citizens Church.
Most of our Home Groups are located in Plano and meet on Sundays. We aim to connect you to a group through Group Connect, but placement isn’t always immediate and depends on location and availability. Group size is determined and limited by available leader capacity.

Interested in Leading or Hosting a Home Group?
Our Home Groups ministry is seeking individuals interested in leading a group! If discovering more about group leadership piques your interest, mark your calendar for our upcoming Interest Meeting. Attending and signing up for this meeting doesn't obligate you to lead. If you know someone with the potential to be a leader or co-leader, please encourage them to register as well.
