Serve

A Healthy Disciple Serves

“But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:26-28

Why Should I Serve?

Jesus Served
  • A mature follower of Jesus serves because that is the example that Jesus set. As we grow in our faith and look more like Jesus, we learn to do what Jesus did. Just as Christ served the bride, so should His disciples.
Citizens Church Value: A Generous People
  • Citizens of heaven are a generous people. We are open handed with our time, talents, stories and resources. Serving requires sacrifice and requires dying to self at times, but Jesus’ call to bear the burdens of others is an opportunity to enter into a joy and rest only found in glad-hearted obedience.
We Need You
  • The body of Christ is made of many people with varying gifts, talents and dispositions. We all need each other to be a fully formed and healthy body of believers. Our ministries can’t function without our people serving in them. Every single ministry of Citizens Church is made possible through people who choose to serve the church.
Community
  • If you are looking for a way to feel more involved in the life of our church, the easiest way to connect with others is by joining a serving team. Serving with others gives you an opportunity to spend intentional time with people who may be like-minded. Every ministry of Citizens Church takes the call to foster meaningful connection with those in their ministry as an outworking of making disciples of Christ.
