Humanity has inherent value because every person is made in the image of God. So how does Jesus teach us to minister in a divided world that often fails to value people the way God does? In Luke 10, He tells a story that shows us what it looks like to love our fellow image-bearers.

We do not love people only when they are useful to us, similar to us, or able to offer us something in return. It is easy to love those who are like us. But the Christian is called to love others because they are made in the image of God and because God Himself loves them.
