As John wraps up this letter, he reminds the audience once again with their purpose, and the knowledge that we have eternal life. He emphasizes the confidence we have in Christ, particularly when we go to God in prayer, that whenever we pray according to his will, because God’s will is the expression of his eternal life in the world.
