Training Minister
The Training Minister leads in the Training ministry by serving the mission to teach the Bible and Christian theology in order to make fully-formed disciples of Jesus Christ. The Training Minister will work alongside the Spiritual Formation Director to develop new classes, write/select curriculum, teach classes, coordinate ministry events, develop and train teachers and ministry leaders, and other day-to-day activities related to the Training ministry.
Job Responsibilities
Training Ministry Classes
Oversee and coordinate classes and assist in curriculum selection/development
Work with SF Director to set scope and sequence of classes, forums and events
Plan the annual Training calendar
Partner with the Communications team to ensure accurate and timely information
Oversee registration, ministry leaders and teacher selection
Provide feedback to teachers at the end of each semester
Curriculum and Resources
Alongside SF Director determine what will be taught in classes
Build out syllabus and collect recommended resources
Utilize/oversee curriculum-writing team as needed
Develop church-wide theological resources
Work with Communications team to schedule and publish curriculum Training Events and Forums
Suggest dates and topics
Research potential speakers, secure speakers and other event-related details
Collaborate with other ministry departments to execute events
Collaborate with other ministry departments for developing resources
Develop and nurture a culture of theological discipleship & lay leadership
Create outward movement from Training environments for continued theological development of the larger church body through trained lay teachers
Teach and model theological education to lay leadership for replicable content handling
Disciple and mentor leaders of leaders, recruits new leaders
Serve as a minister on staff in caring for congregants
Actively interact with members and questions
Qualifications and Requirements
3+ years of ministry experience / Th.M or equivalent
A proven ability to teach to large groups of people
A history of proven discipleship relationships
Aptitude for working with people
Proficient in theological and biblical literacy
Basic understanding of the vision for Training Ministry
Proficient at public communication/speaking
