Ministry Assistant

The ministry assistant will support teach of the spiritual formation ministries of Citizens Church by performing administrative tasks, coordinating calendars, ensuring proper communication, and organizing ministry events and volunteers. This role requires someone who is passionate about the impact of ministry in the church, administratively gifted, and experienced in being an intuitive, proactive gap-filler. Deliverables and the staff supported in this role will vary greatly and will require excellent time-management and communication skills as well as a flexible schedule.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Planning
    • Coordinate and collaborate between ministries
    • Help maintain expenses within budgets
    • Aid in ministry calendaring
    • Evaluate ministry impact and feedback
  • Tactical Execution
    • Project and event management
    • Organize vendors and orders
    • Setup and teardown of events
    • Prepare materials and communications
  • People Development
    • Display a Christ-like love for people
    • Support ministry leads
    • Coordinate ministry volunteers
    • Interact and help ministry participants
  • Administration
    • Manage time to balance support between the needs of ministries
    • Ensure task, communications, and events are well organized, clear and consistent
  • Other
    • Maintain compliance with Citizen Church’s employee policies and procedures
    • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements
    • Must demonstrate annually a clear background check
    • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Affirm Citizens Church’s Statement of Faith and commit to exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with the same
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1+ years of ministry experience
  • Project and/or event management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, etc.)
  • Able to organize leaders and volunteers
  • Proficient in administrative systems and platforms (e.g. Google Drive, etc.)
  • Able to make decisions, problem solve, manage conflict and work well on a team
  • Self-starter, learner, flexible and adaptable
  • Demonstrate good time management
  • Flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends
