Lord, you know the heaviness of this hospice room my husband and I sit in right now. You understand the weight of only being able to attend church online, unable to physically gather in this season. Lord, you understand how our strength feels depleted. We grieve so much right now; it feels like death is prevailing all around us.
Yet, Lord, you are not the author of death, separation from your presence, or weakened strength. You are the author of Life, Emmanuel's presence, community, and strength firmly rooted in Jesus. You brought Life through the agony of Christ’s death to his triumphant resurrection!
This Easter, this season, and this year— not just for us, but for all facing their own battles— we ask that you infuse your resurrection life into every situation. Revive our hearts, rejuvenate our weary spirits, renew our minds and bodies in the name of Christ. Reign over these impossible sufferings, and let your glorious comfort, life, truth, and love overflow even in the darkest corners of our lives. We belong to you, Lord; may your will be done on earth, in these moments, as it is in heaven.
